I moved to Desoto County 27 years ago when my husband accepted a job at Quebecor Printing in Memphis, TN. At the time my youngest son, Blake, was just a year old so I decided to begin my new career as a stay at home mom. When Blake started kindergarten, I accepted a job as an assistant teacher in 2nd grade. After working with several wonderful teachers, I decided to return to college and complete my degree in education.

I currently live in Southaven with my husband and son. (Although my dream is to someday move to Hernando, my husband's job and my son's commute to the University of Memphis is easier from where we currently live.) We have a chocolate lab named Koko and a cat named Shadow. In my spare time I enjoy reading historical fiction, watching HGTV, decorating my home, and working in my flowerbeds. I enjoy my summers swimming and relaxing in the pool! My goal is to one day vacation in Hawaii!!

This year I will begin my 13th year of teaching 3rd grade. While I often wonder about teaching a higher grade, I know I would miss my 3rd graders. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of my students, their personalities, and their interests. Students will work individually, with a partner, and with a group. We will share our reading, writing, questions, and new learning from internet research, books, or discussions. I am looking forward to a wonderful year!
