Week of January 21-25, 2019 

 

    • Martin Luther King Jr Day - January 21 - NO SCHOOL
    • January 24th - Class Pictures
    • February 15th - professional development - NO SCHOOL for students
    • February 18th - President's Day - NO SCHOOL
    • March 1st - Spring Pictures
    • March 11th-15th SPRING BREAK
    • Please do not send nuts, peanut butter, or peanut butter products with your child to school as we have students with nut allergies. Thank you for your consideration!
    • No checkouts after 2:00.
    • Please wear tennis shoes on your PE day.
    • Students may bring a drink and ONE small snack to enjoy quickly after recess.
    • Students must be present at least 63% of the day to not be counted absent.
    • Typically, if a child comes in later than 9:50 a.m., or gets checked out prior to 12:30 p.m., he or she will be counted as absent.
    • If your child is absent, please send an excuse within 2 days of the absence. Make sure the excuse includes your child's full name, the date of absence, and parent signature. If you have a doctor's excuse, please send that.

This Month's Skills in ELA

 -Answer who/what/where/when/why questions.

-Identify the main idea of a text or story.

-Identify supporting details of a story.

-Identify nouns, verbs, adverbs, and adjectives.

-Write basic sentences that make sense. 

(Sentences must start with a capital letter and end in correct puncutation.)

-Order events of a story.

-Compare and contrast information from a story or two different stories.

-Skip count by 5s and 10s

-Order numbers 0-100

-Identify coins and their names.

-Subtract single-digit numbers.

-Count numbers backwards from 20.

-Determine the value of same coins.

-Tell time to the hour and half hour.
