This week, we will be working to get to know one another and to see what all students remember from over the summer. My assistant and I will be checking strengths in ELA and Math to make sure we start instruction at the best level for success!

-Compare objects to determine which has more mass (heavier/lighter).

-Compare containers to determine which can hold more volume.

 

 

                            READING LOGS    

-Be sure to help your child read the book at least three nights a week.

-You may have to model reading the first two nights before giving him/her the chance to read. By Thursday night, he/she should be able to read the book independently or only needing help with a couple of words.

-Please be sure to mark whether the book seemed too hard, too easy, or just right.

-Please use the sight word list on the back as a guide as to which words you should be working on with your child.

-Make sure the folder is returned on Fridays; and that it includes the rating/record sheet, the book, AND the sight word list. I need all of these back.
