January 24, 1848 gold was discovered in California. Students were given various resources to study this historical event. Students were then tasked with creating a Breaking News report to document this event. Below is their broadcast.

*FIELD TRIP* Creative Computer Services will be leading us in a workshop on robotics. Money is due by February 9th. This field trip will be here at HHES.
Currently, we are working on a coding unit. We are learning that technology is only as smart as those who tell it what to do. Students will be introduced to Ozobot, JIMU, and Botley.
In addition, students are continually working on thinking, creativity, success, affective, and communication skills. We will learn how to think like our PETS characters, what we can do to grow our brain, get creative in our MakerSpace station, focus on improving our chess skills, and team work activities.
